May Lau

Hello, I’m May Lau. I was born and raised in the South of France. I’ve met my husband 25+ years ago in the state of Connecticut and we’ve been residents of Raintree for about 4.5 years. Together with my husband, a middle and a high schoolers, we believe Raintree is the best place in Charlotte to live. Our two indoor rescue cats ( Bug & Goose ) and blue tongue skink ( Mushu ) have not complained either…

I’ve been appointed to backfill a vacancy on the board in October 2021. Since then I’ve had the pleasure to work with incredibly knowledgable and dedicated people who, like me, aspire to preserve the unique character of Raintree and protect our community from the ever evolving pressures our rapidly developing city is exerting on us. I would love to have the opportunity to serve again on the board of directors to see through some of the projects we’ve been working on.

  • VP of a Charlotte-based, Nutraceutical company

  • Served on the HOA board since 2020 acting as the current Vice President of Raintree HOA

  • Currently Active President of the Village of Raintree

 

HOBBIES & INTERESTS:

  • Giving back to the community

  • Mentorship

  • Enjoying my time with my wife and friends at the pool each weekend

  • Playing with the dogs

  • Working in the yard

  • Helping out where needed in the neighborhood

  • Golfing (whenever I can find the time)

  • Being the face of Raintree (always open to listening for suggestions and/or ideas to improve our community)

  • I am highly visible in our neighborhood and make myself available (in person) to talk

GOALS AS A MEMBER OF THE RAINTREE HOA:

  • Maintain Raintree as a premier destination to live

  • Preserve our community

  • Continue being the voice for the community, it is about you (the community)

  • Assist other members of the Raintree HOA to make sure that the goals and objectives voted on are facilitated in a timely fashion and according to what was specified

Current Chairperson of ARC with more than 30 years of Board experience in local, regional, national, and international associations.

Positions include Executive, President, Treasurer, and Director, as well as various Committee Directorship roles.
